About  the Company

Meet Pam

Although I have been sewing for myself and others for more than 40 years, I have only recently begun trying to earn a living by sewing. I guess this makes me a "professional" now. So I have this website and a blog, and am also registered at thumbtack.com.

Since starting the business, I have been making, and altering formal attire for ladies, designing and sewing ceremonial costumes for a chorus, making special table cloths with mitered corners, and therapeutic gloves with special organic fabric. I also took a leather bomber jacket and turned it into a custom designed carpenter's work vest.
At thumbtack you can see pictures of recent work done thru thumbtack and read reviews from some of my customers.
I am here to serve your sewing needs on the west side of Portland.

Pam's

Hi there!   I am the Pam of Pam's Custom Sewing.  I'm so glad you are reading this so you can get to know me a little better.

I have been sewing  for many many years.  My grandmother taught me to sew when I was small, and I have been creating things ever since.

Over the years I developed my skills and  have made, altered, and repaired all kinds of things: casual clothing, sleepwear, costumes, formals and wedding, and outerwear,  for my children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, acquaintances, and myself......things for the home like curtains and window quilts, rugs, table cloths, quilts, pillows ....... stuffed toys and dolls. I even made a pair of suitcases once!  I occasionally have entered my work at the fair and have won a few blue ribbons.

I enjoy creating new things, but I especially enjoy giving old things new life. They call this up-cycling now, but I have been doing it for years.
Besides sewing, I have been involved in many other crafts including knitting, crochet, and embroidery. I enjoy learning new things, and am always trying out some new technique.
When I was younger, I wanted to learn how to do everything, and I am still working on that. Along the way I have learned that there are some things I don't like to do, like tatting! My goal is to one day be able to go from fiber to garment.
I have lived in Hillsboro, OR for more that 15 years and have a large extended family in the area who give me joy.
As a member of the Masonic family and the spouse of a veteran, I give discounts to veterans and members of any Masonic related organizations.
